Percival Clothing have become somewhat of a household name of late, mainly thanks to kitting out Gareth Southgate for the 2021 Euros but also because they make fantastic classic pieces.

Based in East London’s Hackney, Percival perfectly combine quintessential British style and Internationally sourced fabrics to create some of the most wearable pieces on the menswear market. Known for their playful take on embroidered t shirts and well curated jackets, this season they have brought out something very special indeed, the knitted shirt.

An unbelievably versatile piece that has a place in every mans wardrobe, the knitted shirt has the ability to become your new summer go-to. Percival have absolutely nailed this season in every aspect but especially from a shirting point of view, allow me to walk you through a few favourites of mine and how I’d wear them.

Academy Mini Cable Knit – £109.00

Kudos to Percival for the styling on this one, this is exactly how I’d wear this piece. Kept open over a crisp white tee, tucked into a pair of linen trousers to those warm summer evenings. The gentle detailing adds a level of luxury normally seen from the fashion big hitters.

Impressionist Jacquard – £139.00

If a bold shirt is more your thing then stop searching, I’ve found the perfect one. The use of soft colours help stop the shirt from shouting too loud but loud enough to make your point. Layer this over a tee or vest and get out there.

Marble Jacquard Knit – £139

This shirt speaks for itself, the hues of orange blend beautifully thanks to the marble pattern. Rather than make this the outer layer, I’d wear this under a deconstructed light beige blazer and strut about like Birmingham is the Amalfi coast.
