Farah has announced that from SS21, they will be producing their core lines with only 100% cotton – A move that demonstrates the brand’s commitment when it comes to sustainability – which is so prevalent in the world of fashion at this time.
Farah’s core collection includes everyday t-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, quarter-zip tops, jersey shorts, chinos, Harrington jackets and the brand’s now-famous Brewer shirt (you know, the really well fitted one) with Farah’s signature gold F logo.
But what is 100% cotton and what makes it a sustainable material? you may ask, well in Farah’s case they use two methods – either the Organic Content Standard, an independent organisation that verifies the amount of organic material in the final product, or by the Global Textile Standard, widely considered the textile processing benchmark for organic fibres.
Farah has also pledged to ensure the organic cotton it uses is sourced only from producers with high standards of working conditions and employment rights.
We’re loving the 100% cotton core collection, from the earthy tones through to the pops of colours such as maritime blue, fresh green and palisade pink present throughout the range in t-shirts, shirts and sweaters.
Farah’s heritage can also be seen throughout the collection, spanning back to Texas, 1920 and re-born in the Uk in the ’70s the designs feature nods to the 90’s indie music scene and Mods while offering that classic Farah quality construction and durability. Farah’s 100% cotton mission, will only elevate a brand that has always offered quality items on the British high street.
