Mixing the old and the new is what we love here at High Def Male, and the move towards many Fairisle orientated Autumn/Winter trends are exciting news for us.

Personally I love fairisle. It looks vintage even though it is probably new. This is because the technique used is a very old one, originating in the Shetland islands in Scotland. But this style of knitting has certainly moved to bigger and better things from what it was many years ago. There has been an increase in the number of styles of fairisle knits this season, and there are so many to choose from. Coming in the form of cardigans, jumpers, hats and gloves, the list goes on. I think its really important that you have something fairisle in your wardrobe. Of course the winter is approaching, and soon the goose will be fat, so it’s essential you prepare yourselves clothing wise for the cold times ahead. Your wardrobe will be on the change, as we move from what we call ‘summer’ into Autumn and then into winter. As I write this the weather is really cold, and it is only going to get worse.

As we have already know, layering is key. Fairisle knits allow great layering, and you are able to create different looks by this layering process. For example a t-shirt under a fairisle cardigan worn with an aviator jacket over. You can create the looks according to your personality and your individual style.
